Depression
Depression
A common but serious mood disorder that affects daily functioning.
What is Depression?
Depression is more than just feeling sad. It is a medical condition that causes persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in activities. It can affect sleep, appetite, energy levels, and concentration.
Treatment
Treatment includes psychotherapy (talk therapy), antidepressant medication, or a combination of both. SSRIs (such as fluoxetine) are commonly prescribed as first-line treatment. Regular exercise and social support also play important roles.
